The Social Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) is a cross-cultural program utilizing social entrepreneurship as means towards economic progress.
Seed in the Philippines started in 2014 with San Beda as host institution. Since then, the program was continously developed way of engineering a competency-based approach to ensure transfer of learning, generation of research, and impact to the vegetable farmers in Bauko, Mountain Province.
A growing number of local and international students and lecturers from Asia and beyond participate in the program.
The program was scheduled in August 2017 in Manila, Baguio and Mountain Province. However, to diligently ensure the safety of participants, the program was deferred to 2018 due to global serurity alerts. Nevertheless, mechanisms are currently under study in view of helping the vegetable farmers accomplish previous SEED recommendations
